Qi Kun Xue received his Ph.D. in Physics from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1994. Since 2005, he has been a full professor in Department of Physics, Tsinghua University. Currently, he is the Vice President for Research, Tsinghua University and Director of State Key Lab of Quantum Physics. His research interests include scanning tunneling microcopy/spectroscopy, molecular beam epitaxy, topological insulators, interface-induced high temperature superconductivity and surface science. He won the Physical Science Award of the Future Science Prize in 2016 for his groundbreaking discoveries of novel quantum phenomena using molecular beam epitaxy, including quantum anomalous Hall effect and monolayer FeSe superconductivity. He has authored/coauthored more than 440 journal articles and book chapters, which include 6 in Science and 12 in Nature affiliated journals. His current h-index (Scopus database) is 53 (nearly 11,000 citations). He has presented more than 100 invited/keynote/plenary talks at international meetings/conferences. Currently, he is also the Editors-in-Chief for Nano Research and Surface Review & Letter, and on the Editorial Advisory Board of Physical Review B, Applied Physics Letters, Journal of Applied Physics, AIP Advance and Journal of Physics D (Applied Physics).
