Shahidan Radiman is a Professor at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He received his Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Theoretical Physics from Queen Mary College, University of London, UK in 1982. In 1990, Prof Shahidan obtained his PhD in Neutron Scattering from University of Cambridge. His research interests are on nanomaterials, nuclear structure studies, quantum cosmology and black holes. He is an expert in small angle neutron and x-ray scattering techniques, nanomaterials synthesis and quantum phenomena studies. To date, he has supervised more than a hundred postgraduate students. As an experienced researcher, he produced more than 160 indexed papers, as well as proceedings and chapters in books, totaling of more than 400 papers. He held many positions during his service including as the Head of Nuclear Science Programme, Chairman of the School of Applied Physics and Deputy Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology. He is also UKM coordinator for international collaborations with several institution such as University of Bordeaux, Flinders University, Korea Advance Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and Kyunghee University of Korea.
