Editorial Policies

Reviewing Policy: This journal uses double-blind peer review. Submitted articles will go through a rigorous peer/editorial review process prior acceptance to ensure originality, relevance and the highest standards. Every effort will be made to ensure rapid publication. Papers will be accepted for publication based on quality and originality of the work besides style and presentation.

Plagiarism Policy: All articles submitted to the Jurnal Kejuruteraan will be initially screened and checked using the plagiarism detection software Turnitin.

Open Access Policy: This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Publication decisions: The Editor-in-Chief of Jurnal Kejuruteraan is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The editor may be guided by the policies of the journal’s editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editor may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.

Fair play: An editor at any time evaluates manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

Confidentiality: The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

Disclosure and conflicts of interest: Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor’s own research without the express written consent of the author.

Privacy Statement: The names and e-mail addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.

Copyright & License to Publish: All articles published in this journal are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). The CC BY 4.0 allows for maximum dissemination and re-use of open access materials and is preferred by many research funding bodies. Under this license users are free to share (copy, distribute and transmit) and remix (adapt) the contribution for any purposes, even commercially, provided that the users appropriately acknowledge the original authors and the source.

Copyright is retained by authors. Authors are required to sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement form (which can be downloaded from the journal’s Instructions for Authors), granting UKM Press (Penerbit UKM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) which identifies itself as the original publisher, exclusive rights to publish their articles, and granting any third party the right to use the articles freely as long as the integrity is maintained and the original authors, citation details and publisher are identified.
