ABSTRACT
Polymer exchange
membrane fuel cell (PEMFCs) is a device that convert the
chemical energy of fuel directly into electrical energy thus may
promising as an
energy sources to the high power density performance at low temperature.
The
components of fuel cell consist of electrolyte, catalyst layer, gas
diffusion and
bipolar plate. Among these components, Bipolar Plate (BPs) is one of the
heaviest components of PEFMC, which account for as much as 60-80% of the
stack weight. Hence, there are vigorous efforts over world wide to find
suitable
materials for BPs. The materials include non porous graphite, coated
metallic
sheets, polymer composites, etc. This paper reviews the PEMFC and their
function, CNTs based polymer composites, electrical and mechanical
properties
of CNTs reinforced epoxy nanocomposites
Keywords: Termoset polymer, bipolar plate, high conductive polymer
