Upon Arrival	Upon receiving your letter of offer: ► Log in to Join UKM at http://join.ukm.my/ and confirm on your acceptance. ► Please email to the UKM Academic Management Centre at akad@ukm.edu.my for any enquiry. Visa & Immigration International students who wish to study fulltime at any educational institution in Malaysia MUST apply for a Student Pass. This is a requirement of Regulation 13 of the Immigration Regulations 1963. The application and the approval to study in Malaysia MUST be obtain before entering Malaysia. Conversion of an existing Social Pass (Tourist Visa) to Student Pass STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED. Visa Approval Letter (VAL) and Requirement All new international students must be issue with a Visa Approval Letter (VAL) before arriving in Malaysia. The application process may take around 4 – 6 weeks subjected to the Malaysia Immigration Department approval. Students are advised to submit the applications as early as possible after received the letter or offer and before the below deadlines. ► After student confirmed an acceptance to the offer through the GUEST system, UKM will email a guideline for the VAL application information. ► Application documents will be ganerated by UKM to the EMGS STARS system ► Student will receive an instruction for the VAL application payment via email. Proof of payment made by student must be sent to val@ukm.edu.my. ► Track an application status through https://visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my/emgs/application/searchForm/?___SID=U Upon receiving VAL ► Once the candidate received the VAL, kindly proceed to the stated Malaysian embassy in the VAL for application of Single Entry Visa (SEV). ► Upon receipt of SEV, the candidate can make arrangement to come to Malaysia. ► The Malaysia Immigration Department at the entry point (airport) will grant a special pass for 30 days by providing the offer letter, VAL and SEV. Obtain the Student Pass (Multiple Entry Visa) ► The candidate must attend to UKM Health Centre for post arrival medical examination within 7 working days upon arrival in Malaysia. The delay of renewal application may cause the student to apply for special pass and incur extra cost. ► Once your passport is called for submission by EMGS, kindly submit your passport to Pass and Visa unit as soon as possible. ► Kindly be informed that the student must obtain student pass before dependent is allowed to submit their passport for dependent pass. Once the student received the new passport from their respective embassies, the student must apply for a new student pass sticker endorsement at the new passport. Checklist for Student Pass Endorsement Checklist for Dependent Pass Endorsement Form of Pass Student Acknowledgement Letter Student/Dependent Pass Cancellation ► Cancellation of student pass is required upon request on deferment for 1 semester or more from UKM, change courses, completed study, withdraw, terminated, change visa. ► Cancellation of dependent pass is required if the dependent need to change the visa such as from dependent visa to student visa, schooling visa, employment visa, return to home country. If the student required to cancel the student pass, dependent automatically must cancel the dependent pass. Applicant must prepare for flight ticket in advance in case request from EMGS.
