The Centre for Natural and Physical Laboratory Management of UKM, or ALAF-UKM, was approved for establishment on September 8, 2022. It is the result of the restructuring of several research centers comprising 4 natural laboratories and 2 physical laboratories.

ALAF-UKM becomes a management entity that will monitor and coordinate each research laboratory centrally at the Natural and Physical Laboratory Management Center of UKM (ALAF-UKM), Level 2, UKM Research Complex, 43600 UKM, Bangi, Selangor.
ALAF UKM consists of research centers as follows:
RESEARCH CENTERS (NATURAL LAB)
I. Tasik Chini Research Center (PPTC)
II. Fraser’s Hill Research Center ( PPBF)
III. Langkawi Research Center (PPL)
IV. Marine Ecosystem Research Center (EKOMAR)

RESEARCH LABORATORIES (PHYSICAL LAB)
i. i-CRIM Laboratory
ii. Makmal Bioserasi

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide laboratory/center services to customers according to their respective functions.

Ensure that laboratories/centers are conducive, safe, and operate optimally to guarantee optimal and sustainable productivity.

Plan and implement suitable laboratory/center activities and promotions to attract customers from within and outside UKM.

Generate income for the University.
