The massacre against the residents of Gaza is an international issue that needs to be taken seriously by people worldwide because it is not just a religious problem, not only a problem of a particular nation, and not a war of ideologies. Instead, it is a humanitarian issue, where a massacre is occurring where the people of Gaza are being brutally killed and oppressed indiscriminately, regardless of age, gender, or religion. The song “Syiddu Baa’dkum Ya Ahla Falastin” has been a phenomenon among the Arab population, where the original short song has been extended and adapted by communities outside Gaza, stirring up a spirit of solidarity with the people of Gaza. Therefore, this research aims to analyse this Arab song, which has become a catalyst for the residents of Gaza and the global community in expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza. The research hopes to open the eyes of the Malay community to the truth, namely the oppression and injustice inflicted on the people of Gaza, and subsequently, to provide full support to them and inspire their spirit of resistance. This qualitative research employs a stylistic approach through the examination and analysis of the song. The study involves scrutinizing and elucidating the meanings conveyed by the song’s performers so that it can be understood by all layers of society across the Nusantara archipelago that comprehends the Malay language. The research will shed light on how the song can influence and have a significant impact on the support and solidarity for the people of Gaza in Palestine. The results of this research aim to understand the ability and application of literature as a generator of solidarity, as well as to identify the linguistic elements present in the song. In conclusion, literature serves as a medium to construct support and solidarity that should not be underestimated in its effects.

This study aims to help Arabic language learners at the Department of Arabic Language and Literature of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) learn the ‘Science of al-Bayan’ by designing a prototype courseware. This study was conducted by using systematic descriptive and analytical methodologies, where the descriptive approach required the researcher to gather information about the ‘Science of al-Bayan’ and theories of learning through an educational blog. In addition, the analytical approach had several stages of scientific procedures. First and foremost, learners’ needs analysis was conducted before the phase of design. Secondly, an experts’ review analysis was conducted during the design phase. The next stage was the analysis of the results of pre-and post-tests done by learners. Lastly, the analysis of formative evaluation by the learners after the completion of the development phase was also conducted. A special prototype courseware in learning ‘Science of al-Bayan’ was designed by using an educational blog, based on the ADDIE instructional design model in the design and development process based on students’ needs, opinions, and suggestions. The participants of this study were 60 students (27 students were selected during the needs analysis phase and 33 students were chosen during the pre- and post-tests and also during the evaluation phase). Two experts were selected from the field of Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) and Arabic Rhetoric during the needs analysis phase. The results of this study showed that the majority of the students were positive about learning ‘Science of al-Bayan’ through the educational blog which increased their learning desires and motivation, while at the same time improved their understanding and performance in learning this subject.

National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) as the name shows, is a Nigerian government organ that coordinates the activities of the Nigerian Colleges of Education (NCE) that train prospective student-teachers for teaching at the primary and junior secondary school levels. The need to review the year 2020 edition of the Commission’s curriculum in Arabic Language informed the decision to embark on this paper. That the edition which is the latest in the series has shown some lacuna that requires a comprehensive remodification goes without saying. These areas include its objectives in relation to the purpose which it is meant to serve as well as the relevance and suitability of the curriculum contents to the needs of the prospective student-teachers. This paper focuses more on Colleges of Education in Yorubaland of South-west Nigeria where the curriculum has the overall negative effects on admission of qualified candidates into the Colleges and on employment after graduation. Recommendations in this paper would hopefully enhance effective curriculum that will improve candidates’ admission into the programme and broaden their chances at becoming gainfully employed when they graduate.

Buya Hamka was an influential contemporary Indonesian exegete whose contributions significantly impacted Islamic thought, especially in Indonesia. He was highly skilled in various fields of knowledge, including philosophy, literature, Sufism, theology, and sociology. In his Tafsir al-Azhar, he employed the Adabi Ijtimai approach, which aims to reveal the linguistic beauty and societal miracles of the Qur’an to address the challenges faced by Muslims at large. This study examines the frequent occurrence of the terms Thayyib (good) and Khabis (bad) in the Qur’an, highlighting the contemporary issue where many individuals behave in ways that contravene Qur’anic teachings and struggle to distinguish between good and bad. The research questions explored are: What are the meanings of Thayyib and Khabis according to Tafsir al-Azhar? How does Tafsir al-Azhar interpret these terms? What are the wisdoms behind the usage of these terms in the Qur’an according to Tafsir al-Azhar?The primary data source is Tafsir al-Azhar by Buya Hamka. The findings are as follows: The terms Thayyib and Khabis are mentioned together in the Qur’an eight times across seven surahs, referring to various contexts such as charity, human actions, wealth, land, and food (good and bad). According to Hamka’s interpretation in Tafsir al-Azhar, believers are inclined toward good deeds, while non-believers tend to commit wrongdoings. For example, giving should involve cherished items, not disliked ones. One must not take what is not rightfully theirs, such as spoils of war, orphaned property, or illicit gains through corruption or usury. Bad actions include harboring hatred, envy, and malice. Fertile land yields crops, while barren land does not. Good food includes livestock such as camels, goats, and sheep slaughtered in Allah’s name, whereas bad food includes impure items such as flowing blood, carrion, pork, and offerings to idols. The wisdom behind these terms includes emphasizing good over bad due to the abundance of goodness in nature, enabling humans to discern between good and bad, avoiding the unlawful seizure of property, and refraining from replacing high-quality orphaned property with inferior goods. Additionally, individuals are encouraged to cultivate their intellect and heart to remain pious and faithful to Allah, while avoiding corruption, usury, jealousy, envy, and grudges. Allah commands humanity to preserve the environment and show gratitude to Him

This paper investigates the teaching of Arabic studies in Nigerian universities, with a particular focus on the challenges and factors contributing to the underrepresentation of females in this academic field. Despite the critical role of Arabic in Nigeria, due to its religious, cultural, and historical significance, female participation in Arabic studies and instruction remains notably low. This study explores the societal, cultural, and institutional barriers that deter women from enrolling in and pursuing Arabic programs and contribute to its instruction. It also examines existing initiatives and proposes actionable strategies to increase female participation in Arabic studies. By addressing the socio-cultural, religious, and institutional challenges that hinder female enrollment, the paper aims to recommend policies and reforms that can bridge the gender gap, promote inclusivity, and enhance the overall quality of Arabic education in Nigeria. The study concludes with recommendations for increasing female representation in the field, ensuring gender equity, and improving the academic landscape of Arabic studies in Nigerian universities.
