"Department of Anatomy was established with the establishment of Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia  in 1970. The main activity of the department is teaching anatomy to undergraduate students (Program of Medicine and Nursing) and Master of Medical Science (Anatomy).  We also take part in teaching the Masters of Surgery, Ortolaryngology and Orthopedic.  All staffs are also actively  engaged in research of both graduate (Master of Medical Science and Doctor of Philosophy) and undergraduate students (Degree of Medical Doctor and Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences).

Our staffs are also committed in the production of Anatomy teaching materials especially histological slides, plastinated and prosected specimens

Apart from teaching and learning activities staffs of Department of Anatomy are also active in doing research and some of the academic staffs had secured some research grants.

The combination of highly motivated, innovative, creative, and ethical academic staff and support staff is capable of meeting the needs of successful Research University."
