iFUTURE Empowers Global Leaders

Kuala Lumpur, 18 August – The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) hosted the International Young Future Leaders Summit 2024 (iFUTURE 2024) aimed at empowering the next generation of leaders to take on pressing national and global challenges.

With the participation of over 1,000 student leaders from 46 countries, iFUTURE 2024 serves as a unique platform for emerging global leaders to converge and collaborate.

In the closing address, MOHE Minister, Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir said that the event has successfully promoted international cooperation.

“This summit has brought together student leaders from diverse backgrounds, fostering dialogue, exchanging ideas, sharing experiences, and building lasting relationships that will serve as a foundation for future global partnerships.

“Recognizing that human capital is our greatest asset, we designed forums and workshops to enhance leadership skills and inspire innovative thinking that can drive nations forward,” he said.

Zambry also announce the setting up of the Global Student Unity Network that will serve as a platform to develop university leaders at the international level.

“It will also serve as a networking platform for local and international university students to share ideas and views,” he added.

Throughout the event, participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions, attend interactive workshops, and network with peers and leaders from diverse backgrounds.

Seven forum sessions, led by national and international student leaders, as well as esteemed leaders from the higher education sector and Cabinet Ministers, will cover various leadership topics. These forums aim to foster new perspectives on leadership roles and the global dynamics that shape them.

The three-day event was officiated by the Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL).
