BANGI, 20 June 2023 – Six students from the Speech Sciences Programme under the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) recently had the opportunity to embark on an informative journey of learning, exploration, and cultural immersion in the United Kingdom.
During the 10-day Student Mobility Programme, the students had the unique opportunity to learn about the country’s rich history, academic excellence, and vibrant culture. They also engaged in a diverse range of activities designed to enhance their academic, cultural, and personal growth.
This initiative aimed to provide an inimitable educational experience for our students, enabling them to raise international connections with students from other parts of the world.
They attended informative discussions with the esteemed Speech Science Programme members and students from the University of East Anglia (UEA) and the University College London (UCL), gaining valuable insights and expanding their knowledge in the field of Speech and Language Pathology.
One of the highlights of the program was the opportunity for our students to interact and collaborate with speech therapists from Italy and British. Through engaging discussions, collaborative projects, and cultural exchanges, they established valuable connections that will positively shape their academic and professional futures.
According to Preeta Rajandran, the Student Mobility Programme in the United Kingdom was a life-changing experience.
“It provided me with an opportunity to learn from world-class educators, immerse myself in a different culture, and create memories that will last a lifetime. “I am grateful to the British Council, the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF), and the University of Malaysia Centre for Students Affairs for sponsoring this enriching journey,” she said.
