The Pusat Pengajian Citra Universiti (School of Liberal Studies) seeks to develop graduates who are holistic and have a UKM identity through the method of mind formation and character building, in keeping with the vision, mission, and goals of UKM Citra Education.

Up till the Centre successfully implements the Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies, the dynamism of Citra education will keep growing. This time, the main research mode in this area of study offered by the Pusat Pengajian Citra Universiti (School of Liberal Studies) is a Master’s level Graduate Program.

Admission Requirements

Master of Letters

Recognized Bachelor

possess a Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the programme you are applying for, as recognised by the Malaysian government, with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 2.75; or

Bachelor + 1 Year of Work Experience

have at least one year of work experience in a related sector and a bachelor's degree in a field recognised by the Malaysian government with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 2.50; or

Bachelor + 5 Years of Work Experience

possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from an institution accredited by the Malaysian government, with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 2.00, as well as at least 5 years of relevant work experience and a thorough internal evaluation (MDD 2021); or

Language requirements

INTERNATIONAL CANDIDATES

English Language Requirements

  • Pass TOEFL (minimum 550); or
  • Pass IELTS (minimum band 5); or
  • Pass MUET (minimum band 4)

Special International

For international student candidates who are considered on a conditional offer because they do not meet the English language competency requirements, they must attend an internal level English Preparation Course and must sit for the MUET exam or any exam that has been aligned to The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

Admission Application

Applications are open throughout the year and can be made online. We invite applications to follow the CITRA Master of Science degree program. Applications can be made through the Join UKM system (https://join.ukm.my). This application system is administered by the Academic Management Center (PPA) and their website is (www.ukm.my/akademik)

UKM offers a financial aid scheme in the form of Zamalah and it is limited to eligible students only. Applications for the Zamalah scheme can be applied directly to the UKM Graduate Center.
