In conjunction with the antibiotic awareness week 2015 (16-22 November 2015), an awareness program was held in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Pusanika, Bangi. The aim of this awareness programme is to raise awareness about various health issues among the public including UKM students. 5 different booths comprises different themes were set up. The themes included Antibiotics Resistance, Vaccination, Obesity, Mental Health, Smoking Cessation and Obesity awareness. Some interesting games and quizzes were prepared by UKM Second Year Pharmacy students to attract students from various courses to visit our booths! Besides that, visitors had the opportunity to measure their BMI (Body Mass Index) which is important to estimate their body fat. We also counselled besides answering visitors’ enquiries especially topics related to current health issues such as Antibiotic Resistance, Vape, Vaccination, etc. Brochures and free goodies bags sponsored by Pharmaniaga were distributed to the visitors. The awareness programme ended at 5pm. Even though it was tiring, but we hope we had more opportunities to organise such meaningful programme to share our knowledge for the benefits of the community in future.
