Embracing the theme of “Advancing Multidimensional Roles of Pharmacy Education and Research”, the International Conference on Pharmacy Education and Research Network of ASEAN (ASEAN PharmNET 2017), hosted by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and Taylor’s University was held from 21st until 22nd November 2017 in Grand Season Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
The goal of the conference is to create the platform to share knowledge and experiences in pharmacy education and research among pharmacy students. The conference focused on recent advances in pharmacy education and research related to all disciplines of pharmacy. Apart from inviting prominent professors from different universities as the invited speakers, it also involved student representatives from several universities to engage in poster presentations and talk presentations on several scientific topics. It was an initiative to build close relationship among the Malaysian students and students from other ASEAN countries.
On the first day, an interesting discussion session on the result obtained from the survey about “The Life of Pharmacy Students in Different Universities” was conducted by the students at the Faculty of Pharmacy, UKM. After the lunch break, they continued with presentations on significant research and annual programmes conducted by each university.
The last day of ASEAN PharmNET was loaded with fun as the committee brought the participants for a KL City Tour. The conference was fruitful ending with the commitment of the registered member schools to organize the ASEAN PharmNET conference biennial.
