The Inter-Faculty Sports Carnival (IFASC) is an eagerly anticipated annual sports event that brings together four faculties from UKM, namely, the Faculty of Health Sciences (FSK), Faculty of Pharmacy (FFAR), Faculty of Dentistry (FGG), and Faculty of Medicine (FPER). With its virtual opening ceremony on June 3, 2023, Saturday, from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., IFASC 2023 was organised by the Faculty of Health Sciences, who also acted as the event’s host. The games were held in Kolej Tun Syed Nasir UKM on June 3, 4, and 11, 2023, and featured representatives from each faculty competing for the coveted top three prizes.
The IFASC 2023 provided a wonderful opportunity for participants to engage in indoor sporting events that included badminton and aerodance, where they could bond with other students from faculties that were different from their own. The indoor events were followed by a thrilling line-up of outdoor sports activities, such as futsal, frisbee, virtual run, volleyball, and basketball, that provided an adrenaline-filled experience for all. The participants were seen strategizing in huddles, sharing tactics, and discussing game plans, which made the IFASC 2023 a very competitive and exciting event.
The participants were seen pushing themselves to their limits, despite the heat and fatigue that began to take their toll on some of them. The Red Crescent members were kept busy, running back and forth, offering assistance to those who were injured or unwell. The IFASC 2023 was a truly unforgettable experience that showcased the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie that the participants displayed as they competed against each other.
In conclusion, the IFASC 2023 was a resounding success, thanks to the excellent organisation of the Faculty of Health Sciences. A big clap goes to the champion of IFASC 2023 which is the Faculty of Health Science. The event provided a perfect opportunity for students to engage in sports activities, learn new skills, and develop their leadership qualities. It also offered them a chance to make new friends and foster an understanding of the diverse cultures and backgrounds that exist within the different faculties.
