JATI Entrepreneurship Ideation Challenge (JESIC) : Pitching Teknousahawan 2024

Jati Entrepreneurship Ideation Challenge: Pitching Teknousahawan 2024 is an exciting annual event by the JATI-UKM Club aimed to encourage entrepreneurial mindset among participants through various interactive and practical activities. Designed with a focus on innovation and problem-solving, this initiative aligned with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which emphasizes “Sustainable Quality Education”, whose aim is to equip participants with essential skills that promote sustainable development, including entrepreneurship.

With the theme of “Great Entrepreneur, Economic Driver”, JESIC 2024 took place on two separate days. The first day, held virtually on 9th November 2024, featured an engaging training session conducted by two distinguished speakers from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Shamin Mohd Saffian and Prof Madya Dr. Mazlina Mohd Said. The second day, the grand finale, took place on 16th November 2024 at Lecture Hall 1, UKM KL, where 10 teams competed in an intense pitching competition.

On the final day, the event kicked off at 8:15 a.m. and concluded at 1:15 p.m. Each team was given 8 minutes to pitch their innovative ideas and an additional 7 minutes to address questions from the judges. The panel of esteemed judges included Prof. Madya Dr. Mazlina Mohd Said, Deputy Director of UKM-CESMED; Prof. Madya Ts. Dr Kalaivani A/P Chellapan, a lecturer at UKM; and Mr. Ahmad Yani bin Ismail, the representative manager of Duopharma Biotech Berhad.

Out of 10 participating teams, three rose to the top. The team A4OUR, composed of four members, secured first place, while Pharmlit, also a four-member team, claimed second. Impressively, the third-place honor went to A Little Step, a solo participant who proved that even one individual can achieve greatness.

The event also featured a welcome speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Mohd Makmor Bakry, and an opening speech by Prof. Madya Dr. Mazlina Mohd Said. Then, the program concluded with the presentation of prizes to the winners, souvenirs for the officiating parties, and a photography session to capture the memorable moments.

Indeed, JESIC 2024 was more than just a competition – it was a meaningful platform for participants to develop entrepreneurial and problem-solving skills while nurturing creativity and teamwork that are valuable in both personal and professional life. For those who missed this year’s event, there is no need to worry! JESIC will be back next year, presenting another exciting opportunity for students to explore their potential and shine as future entrepreneurs. Hence, do not miss your chance to be part of this impactful journey in the future!
