LET’S GO GREEN LUNG
“Life thrills, smoking kills! Be smart, don’t start!”
On the 8th of October 2017, participants of Let’s Go Green Lung gathered at Lecture Hall 4 UKM KL for registration at 7.30am. The event began with the arrival of VIPs. After all the participants rose and sang the national anthem, Loi Tek Ming, the president of Green Lung and Dr. Chong Wei Wen talked on the importance of Green Lung organization. Next, Mrs. Marsitah binti Haji Ahmad as a health education officer from Hospital Kuala Lumpur delivered her talk entitled “Indahnya Tanpa Tembakau” which educated the participants on where one could seek help if one became an addictive smoker. Also, Mr Yip Chee Siang as the VIP shared about his experiences in leaving his smoking lifestyle after 20 years of smoking.
Soon, an ice breaking session was held to divide participants into groups for the explorace later.
After having lunch, the exploration session was kick-started when all committee members and participants reached Eco Park KL. There were 5 stations where the participants had to complete tasks to proceed to the following station. The games fostered teamwork among the participants as the games required interactions among them. The event finally ended with the prize giving session.
Tobacco may increase risk of health problems. The efforts done by Green Lung to deliver messages about the danger of smoking tobacco should be encouraged so that we could live in a tobacco-free environment.
