Fit & Fun Carnival 2015

KUALA LUMPUR, 5 DECEMBER: Nutrition Science Programme of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), in cooperation with The Heart Foundation of Malaysia, Malaysian Association for the Study of Obesity (MASO) and Secretariat Rakan Muda recently organised Fit & Fun Carnival 2015 at Tun Syed Nasir Residential College, which was attended by over 300 people.

The objectives of this carnival were to promote healthy eating and increase physical activity in order to reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes and heart diseases. Therefore, a series of activities were prepared, which included Ninja run, healthy cooking demonstration, health screening, health exhibition and mini games.

The Ninja run was held in conjunction with the International Ninja Day on 5th December at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, while other activities were carried out in the residential college.

The Ninja Run is a family-themed running event to encourage everyone in the family to lace up their running shoes.Resembling the famed Ninja Run, the organizer came out with four mascots of Ninja to cheer and raise the spirit of participants in completing this 6km fun run. No one was a loser and all participants received a finisher’s medal and goodie bag containing a certificate of participation, food and drinks.

The organizer was proud to invite the President of MASO, Prof. Emeritus Dr. Mohd. Ismail Noor for the opening ceremony of this carnival and a positive feedback on the event being successfully organized was given in the speech. Special thanks to the cooperation partners and sponsorship companies, included Nutrition Society Malaysia, Lushious, Ribena, United Lifestyle, Anugerah and Roti Sedap.
