Introduction
The HEARS Centre is a centre of service excellence dedicated to improving the hearing health and quality of life for individuals with hearing disorders in Malaysia. This is achieved through services provided to individuals and their families and collaboration with relevant governmental and private institutions and agencies.
Efforts are directed towards ear and hearing health education, hearing screening, early intervention towards optimal speech-language development and enhanced community engagement.

2023
World Hearing Day
- March & World Hearing Day – with a theme of “Ear and Hearing Care for All”
- Programme – A total of 200 targeted participants involved for hearing screening
- Collaboration – Funded by Yayasan Sime Darby and a collaboration with UKM-GSB and ROSH
Hearing Loss Webinar
- Objective – Increase awareness of managing hearing loss in children
- Project – “Childhood Hearing Loss Awareness Campaign : ACT Now, HEARS How!” funded by Yayasan Sime Darby
- Participants – Medical students local universities which are Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USIM) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)
Auditory-Verbal Therapy Professional Certificate
- Objective – To increase skills of managing children with hearing loss by auditory-verbal approach
- Project – 6 months of programme encompasses theoretical and clinical components. Involvement from local and international
- Sasaran – Audiologists, Speech-Language Therapists, Teachers and any professionals who involved directly with children with hearing loss
HEARS Professional Series - Dangerous Decibels Educators Certification
- Objective – Training educators to increase awareness of workplace noise and prevention of hearing loss among workers who are exposed to noise.
- Project – Collaboration of Sime Darby Oils with local educators.
