JSM Colloquium Series: Complex Networks: From Viruses to Movies
INVITATION TO JSM COLLOQUIUM SERIES
To all researchers, lecturers and postgraduate students,
We are pleased to inform the JSM Colloquium Series will be held as follows:
Title : Complex Networks: From Viruses to Movies
Speaker : Prof. Madya Dr. Fatimah Abdul Razak,
Mathematics Programme, Department of Mathematical Sciences,
Faculty of Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
Abstract : The foundation of Network Analysis is Graph Theory. The origin of Graph Theory is strongly rooted in Euler solving the Konigsberg problem. In the spirit of Euler, I will discuss some interesting applications of Network Analysis on Malaysian data sets. Ranging from the importance of BoboiBoy to crafting reopening strategies amidst Covid-19 to analysing very little microbes, network analysis can be of use.
Date : 9 June 2023 (Friday)
Time : 10.00 am – 11.00 am
Medium : i) Face-to-face (Venue: Bilik Kolokium Bangunan Sains Matematik, FST, UKM)
ii) Online (Facebook Jabatan Sains Matematik, FST, UKM)
