Community Rehabilitation and Ageing Research protrudes as one of the national necessities, in alignment with the increased population life expectancy and diseases associated with demographic transition, in which rehabilitation plays a vital key in healthcare.

In conjunction with the national needs, the Faculty of Health Science (FSK) of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) has rooted its research in community rehabilitation and ageing by merging several research groups; namely Nutrition and Health, Vision Science and Speech Science into one entity.

Hence, the Community Rehabilitation and Ageing Research Centre or acronymly known as H-CARE was formally founded on 7th February 2013, and managed by Faculty of Health Science, UKM.
