To mobilize the idea of cross -disciplinary research, IDEA UKM have orgnized roadshow program to all faculties and institutes to disseminate and explain the function and role of IDEA UKM as well as further clarify the concept of the National Grand Challenge among researchers. During the 2 years the National Grand Challenge was introduced, IDEA UKM has offered a total of 127 research projects with a total fund of RM11.5 million excluding contributions of RM1.2 million from various stakeholders. The National Grand Challenges are listed as follow: Contemporary Islam, Healthy Malaysia, Sustainable Malaysia, Strengthening STEM, Malay Cultural, B40 Empowerment and ASEAN Integration.
