Malaysia-Indonesia (iKMI)<\/strong> ditubuhkan pada 13 Jun 2023 merupakan sebuah pusat kecemerlangan penyelidikan di bawah IKMAS. iKMI memberi tumpuan kepada dinamika isu hubungan Malaysia dan Indonesia dari pelbagai sudut &#8211; sosio-budaya, pendidikan, politik, hubungan antarabangsa, ekonomi dan perdagangan, serta keselamatan. Kepentingan Indonesia kepada Malaysia bukan hanya kerana warisan budaya, peradaban, dan sejarah yang dikongsi bersama, tetapi juga kedudukan\u00a0 Indonesia yang semakin penting yang telah menjadikannya sebagai sebuah kuasa berpengaruh di Asia Tenggara. Pada masa yang sama, Malaysia dan Indonesia adalah ahli pengasas Pertubuhan Negara-Negara Asia Tenggara (ASEAN). Dinamika hubungan antara kedua-dua negara berjiran ini akan memberi impak besar kepada kestabilan ASEAN.<\/p><p>UKM sudah lama mempunyai kepakaran dan penyelidikan mengenai hubungan antara kedua-dua negara jiran ini. Oleh itu, iKMI berperanan sebagai pemangkin untuk meningkatkan kekuatan ini. Penubuhan pusat ini juga bersesuaian dengan objektif UKM untuk menjadi institusi utama yang menjadi pendorong kepada penyelidikan hubungan Malaysia-Indonesia bukan sahaja dalam segi akademik tetapi juga dalam bentuk advokasi dasar kepada kerajaan kedua-dua negara. Justeru, iKMI boleh bertindak sebagai pusat kecemerlangan utama di UKM di dalam menjalin hubungan strategik dan perkongsian pintar dengan agensi kerajaan dan institusi pendidikan serta penyelidikan di Indonesia.<\/p><p><strong>OBJEKTIF iKMI<\/strong><\/p><ol><li>Menjadi pusat utama untuk penyelidikan, perundingan, dan kajian dasar mengenai hubungan Malaysia-Indonesia.<\/li><li>Membentuk perkongsian strategik dengan pusat penyelidikan, agensi swasta dan kerajaan, serta pemimpin berpengaruh di Indonesia.<\/li><li>Menghasilkan pakar dalam bidang yang berkaitan dengan Indonesia dan hubungan Malaysia-Indonesia.<\/li><\/ol><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Centre for Malaysia-Indonesia Relations (iKMI)<\/strong> was established on 13 June 2023 as a research outfit under IKMAS. iKMI focuses on the dynamism of Malaysia and Indonesia relations from various angles &#8211; socio-cultural, education, politics, international relations, economy and trade, and security. Indonesia\u2019s importance to Malaysia is not only due to shared cultural heritage, civilization, and history, but also due to the rising position of Indonesia as an influential power in Southeast Asia. At the same time, Malaysia and Indonesia are the founding members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The dynamic relationship between the two countries would have a great impact on ASEAN&#8217;s stability.<\/span><\/p><p>UKM has the strength of experts and well-known researchers who have long focused on the study of the relationship between these two neighbouring countries. Henceforth, iKMI serves as a further catalyst to enhance this strength. The centre would also suit the UKM\u2019s objectives to become the leader in the study of Malaysia-Indonesia relations not only in an academic form but also as policy advocacy to the governments of both countries. iKMI, therefore, could act as the main focal centre in UKM to establish more strategic relations with government agencies and educational as well as research institutions in Indonesia.<\/p><p><strong>iKMI OBJECTIVES<\/strong><\/p><ol><li>To become a premier centre for research, consultation, policy studies on the Malaysia-Indonesia relations.<\/li><li>To form strategic partnerships with research centers, private and government agencies, and influential leaders in Indonesia.<\/li><li>To produce experts in a field related to Indonesia and Malaysia-Indonesia
