PC2-Certified Greenhouse (RTPC2)
Institute of Systems Biology (INBIOSIS) is now equipped with its first PC2 Greenhouse (RTPC2) facility which enables research on genetically modified plants to be carried out within a secure and controlled environment. RTPC2 is also available to all UKM researchers as well as open for service to other universities or companies.
The existence of the RTPC2 facility conforms to the mandatory requirements of the Biosafety Act 2007, especially in research involving genetic manipulation studies. The facility will helps to boost research in the field of biotechnology and crop improvement. Furthermore, the research to be carried out will help in developing modern biotechnological products and contributing to the advancement in the field that will bring not only bring benefit to the society but also facilitate UKM in achieving status as a world’s leading research university.
