Congratulations to the team of Dr. Wickneswari a/p Ratnam on the achievement of the BERAS PRIMERA brand winning the “MALAYSIA HEALTH & WELLNESS BRAND AWARDS 2023” in the “HEALTH FOOD” category. The award presentation took place at a splendid ceremony on November 15, 2023, at the Imperial Ballroom, One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya. The event was organized by Sin Chew Daily, Lifestyle Magazine, and Sin Chew Healthcare. Also in attendance was the Minister of Health, Dr. Zaliha binti Mustafa.
BERAS PRIMERA is red rice resulting from the research of Dr. Wickneswari and her team during her tenure at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The rice is protected under the New Plant Varieties category and licensed to Nomatech Sdn. Bhd. This rice is rich in antioxidants, has a low glycemic index, and is gluten-free, among other benefits. It is currently available in major supermarkets nationwide.
