The One-Stop Data Curation Portal for Climate Change Research in Malaysia (MyIKLIM) is a data compilation portal that serves to collect and disseminate research data on environment and climate change in Malaysia. The database could be easily accessed by the public for the understanding of the current situation on environment and climate change in Malaysia.
The data are collected from various contributors, mainly from researchers of various universities, research institutions, government, and private agencies. This one-stop reference portal is expected to enhance the linkages between the public, researchers, and potential shareholders in the field of environment and climate change in Malaysia.
It is designed to be informative, interactive, and user-centric for easy accessibility of climate data for research and development in managing the complex issues of climate change and environment. The database provides the platform to publicize the hard-earn research results and the profile of data provider. In a way, it helps data provider to gain exposure to promote their work and open up more collaboration opportunities with the interested parties. Furthermore, the portal also encourages citizen science in the community to understand climate change and environmental conditions in Malaysia.
The vision of this portal is to become the national open database on the environment and climate change research in Malaysia. The missions are to collect and disseminate the research data to the public for the understanding of the current situation of environment and climate change in Malaysia. At the moment, there are 8 scopes covered in MyIKLIM database such as air quality, atmospheric weather, coastal, surface water, marine weather, land use land cover, fire product, ecological indicators. There are more to come in the future!
