Read the latest Review in #Biopolymers: A material-based panspermia hypothesis: The potential of polymer gels and membraneless droplets by Mahendran Sithamparam, Nirmell Satthiyasilan, Chen Chen, Tony Z. Jia and Kuhan Chandru.
Students from IPI, Mahendran Sithamparam and Nirmell Satthiyasilan, published their first hypothesis paper on astrobiology. In the paper they described a new version of the Panspermia hypothesis, suggesting that polymeric gels may have kicked-started the origins of life on earth, and may also contribute to developing new tools for terraforming other planets.
The paper was published in collaboration with Earth-Life Science Institute (ELSI), at the Tokyo Insitute of Technology.
