Abstract
The study aims to identify the extent to which Islamic values of human capital, structural capital, and relationship capital are practiced in intellectual capital management in the tourism sector. This study involved 80 hotel managers in Malaysia using cross-sectional field study data. Respondents were randomly selected using a stratified sampling method and data analysis using SmartPLS. The results show that human capital, structural capital, and relationship capital significantly affect intellectual capital. Findings show that values such as knowledge, honesty, halal- orientation, and avoid wastage has a significant and positive relationship with intellectual capital. This study concludes that Islamic values are critical in managing intellectual capital at the organizational level. At the policy-making level, Islamic values need to be integrated more effectively to strengthen the Muslim-Friendly tourism concept in Malaysia’s tourism industry.
