“MATERIALS SCIENCE ASSISTED BY DATA SCIENCE IN JAIST” OLEH PROF. DR. RYO MAEZONO, JAIST
Professor Dr. Ryo Maezono talk on the use of data science in assisting materials science research at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST). He will discuss the work of two research groups in the School of Information Science that are using supercomputers to study a wide range of materials, including solar cells, fuel cells, lithium-ion batteries, photocatalysts, transparent conductors, magnets, phosphors, supercapacitors, glass, semiconductor electrodes, and superconductors.
In his talk, Professor Maezono will highlight the following areas:
The use of data science to accelerate the discovery and development of new materials with desired properties.
The development of new simulation methods to model and predict the behavior of materials at the atomic and nanoscopic level.
The use of data science to design and optimize materials for specific applications.
Professor Maezono’s talk will be of interest to researchers and students working in the fields of materials science, data science, and computational science.
