Welcome to The Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The department was established in 1985 and offers academic programmes for bachelor, masters and doctorate levels. The Department of Civil Engineering is offering four programmes at undergraduate level (BEng) and post-graduate level. The programmes are:

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering with Honours
• Master of Engineering (Civil)
• Master of Science
• Doctor of Philosophy

Bachelor of Civil Engineering with Honours and Master of Engineering (Civil) programmes are carried out on Outcome Based Education (OBE) pedagogy. Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy are research programmes targeted for students who are interested in research work and wish to continue their career as researchers or academicians.

Selected bachelor students could complete their final two semesters at University of Duisberg Essen (UDE), Germany to get two bachelor degrees, from UKM and from UDE. Besides teaching, our department is putting emphasis on research. Our research has produced many graduates at Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy levels, several patented products and publications in respected international journals.
