SYNOPSIS
- Health impact assessment (HIA) is an important component of any Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). The assessement requires evaluation of multi-disciplinary sciences including medicine and health, air quality, water quality and noise as varieties of inputs to assist any particular environmental health practitioner in performing his tasks.
- In this workshop, candidates will be exposed to the basic principles and steps involved in conducting a HIA. These include screening, scoping, hazard identification, dose-response assessment, exposure assessment and risk characterization.
- Using the previous original HIA documents, candidates will be guided directly by the fasilitator on making a powerful appraisal of the report. The similar workshop will be conducted for every four months interval, with only 10 seat each time due to limited manpower and original previous HIA report as learning material. Those reports are public domain and may be upload from the DOE website. Participants will be award with a certificate of attendance.

At the end of this workshop, candidates should be able to :
- Apply the concept and steps involved in HIA.
- Interpret relevant monitoring and modeling data.
- Review and comment a HIA study in an EIA report.
