INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON REGIONAL ARCHITECTURE & BUILT ENVIRONMENT

We cordially invite you to participate in the International Conference on Regional Architecture & Built Environment (seniBINA 2022) in conjuction with the 20th Anniversary of the Department of Architecture and Built Environment, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). 

seniBINA 2022 intends to provide a platform for academics, researchers, policymakers, practitioners and stakeholders to present and share their knowledge on recent discoveries in the Architecture and Built Environment as well as to promote and disseminate findings in various studies and widen collaboration network. CPD points will also be provided.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

PRESENTER RATES

Please refer to the Call for Papers poster or the main website for full details of presenter rates. Please note that there are no discounts for early registration. Please also note that additional fees for journal submission will be imposed for selected papers

We recommend that you register as early as possible. However, in order to be included in the Conference program, kindly complete your registration and abstract submission before 30th September 2022. If you do not register by the abstract submission deadline, you will not be able to participate in the conference program.

Please inform the seniBINA 2022 secretariat in writing of your request, plus the contact details of the person who will be attending in your place. A substitution can be made and no extra charge or cancellation penalty is incurred.

Please inform the seniBINA 2022 secretariat in writing in order to cancel the place fully. Refunds will not be given after your submission of abstract.

Yes. However, they will have to register as participant  (Student RM100, Others RM200). If you will be co-presenting, please note that co-presenter will be charged accordingly (Student RM400, Others RM500).

Yes. Please select Keynote Speaker Session in google form during registration and include the proof of purchase. For students whom are not presenting, you are encourage to attend the full day conference.

All undergraduate students with an interest in Architecture and Built Environment are welcome to attend as audience member. Kindly refer to the fees for Full Day Participants under student category.

Please review the journal format guidelines in the website. Papers will be accepted from registerd presenter

seniBINA 2022 does not accept presentation proposals from undergraduate students. If you are an undergraduate student considering postgraduate study and have a passion for your discipline, we encourage your participation as an audience member

AUDIENCE & STUDENT RATES

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT

Once you have uploaded the proof of payment to the registration google form, you will receive a copy of your registration to your email

Receipt will be given on the conference day during registration.

Audience will receive a certificate of attendance. Presenters will receive a certificate containing his/her name and the title of the paper that has been presented.

Presenters must register and make payment before abstract submission deadline. However, full day participants and half day participants (keynote session) are encourage to make all registration and payments before 20/10/2022. This allows conference organisers to prepare materials in advance.

ABSTRACT ACCEPTANCE

After your abstract is submitted via google form, it will undergo a blind peer review.

A notification of Acceptance will be sent to you via email once your abstract has been accepted.

There are a number of reasons why a submission may be rejected. Your submission may :

  • Be considered to contain unoriginal work
  • Not be relevant to the conference
  • Have a language and comprehension difficulties
  • Not be considered to meet standards required for presentation

No. All abstract are examined on their own merits. seniBINA 2022 welcomes all contributions from variety of backgrounds and levels of scholarships.

You may submit an abstract for an individual presentation through our google form link. Please note that Authors are allowed only 1 submission. If an individual is part of a group or panel, please subit all papers and participant details in the google form provided. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure all required information is sent to the organiser for input. For submission requirements, examples and additional details about submitting your abstract, please refer to the Call for Papers page

As our conference is a one day program, you may submit only ONE (1) abstract to the conference.

Presenting research that has already been presented elsewhere is not acceptable. It is expected that any paper presented at seniBINA 2022 conference is the original work of the presenter and has not been presented or published elsewhere. Presenting material that has been accepted for publication in a journal or other publication, but which has not gone to print before the conference, is permitted, provided it has not already been presented elsewhere. Full details of where the material will be published should be provided on submission

Yes, however co-presented papers are given the same 25-minute time slot (including Q&A) as papers presented by an individual. Each attending author must register for the conference individually and is subject to the Author/presenter price (Students RM400 and Others RM 500). Kindly inform us of any co-presenting at eventjsab.fkab@ukm.edu.my

You will receive an email receipt of your submission via google form. All communication regarding the status of your submission, acceptance of paper and presentation schedule will be sent via email to the registered email.

Yes, the corresponding author doesnt have to be the first author listed on the paper. However, a fee of RM400 (students)/RM 500 (others) is still in effect for presenting per person (refer to FAQ on co-presenting if there will be 2 presenters)

Abstract submission deadline is on 30th September 2022. You are encouraged to submit your full paper before 15th October 2022. However, you are allowed to submit your full paper together with your abstract submission during the abstract submission deadline

Please submit only if you plan to attend the conference. If you think you may not have time to attend, may not be able to finish a paper or may not be able to get funding, consider waiting until the next seniBINA 2022 conference to submit your. A lot of work goes into processing, reading, evaluating and scheduling every paper so please be respectful of the time spent on this by the seniBINA 2022 Organising Committe and Review Committee.

Yes – a listed co-author may present without you. However, kindly inform us of the changes at eventjsab.fkab@ukm.edu.my

SUBMISSION CHANGE

No. Your abstract and paper was assessed and accepted based on its individual merits and may not substitute for different paper.

Yes – for title changes kindly contact the seniBINA 2022 secretariat at eventjsab.fkab@ukm.edu.my. Note that wike your title may change, the content of your presentation must remain consistent with the accepted abstract.

SCHEDULE REQUESTS

The conference organisers are responsible for scheduling the presentations. Time and room assignments will be assigned and a full schedule list will be emailed out on 1st November 2022. Because the conference is a one (1) day program, it is not possible to accomodate requests for specific times.

PRESENTATIONS

Oral presentations are divided into 2 main sessions. You will receive a detailed schedule including the timeslot for your presentation.

The time in the session is divided equally between presentations. You have a 20-minute slot allocated in which to present with 5 minute Q&A. We would suggest aiming for around 15-18 minutes to present.

The Session Chair has several primary functions:

  • Introducing the session and the individual presenters, which may include affiliations, country and main research interests (speaker bios are provided in the rooms as an aid)
  • Ensuring that presenters present within their scheduled time slot and stick to their time limit
  • Facilitating questions and discussion after all papers have been delivered
