Abstract
From the perspective of farm-management, this study Investigates whether or not farmers who operate large farms tend to own their own farm machinery. Though common sense expectation is that there exists a relationship between these two variables (farm Size and machinery ownership), this study did not find any statistical significance the relationship. Another related hypothesis tested is whether the more expensive the tractor acquired, the more likely it is to be hired out to work on other farms. This hypothesis is supported by the finding. These findings serve to show that farm size is not critical in determining whether or not a farmer decides to purchase his own machinery. Instead, he may seek to fully utilize his machinery by hiring it out to other farmers.
