ROSH, UKM are Always Proactive in Taking Care of the Safety Issues of University Residents
The Security Division and Center for Risk Management, Occupational Safety and Health (ROSH), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia are always proactive in taking care of the safety issues of university residents. Every complaint received related to emergency issues and wild animals, the relevant party or unit will provide immediate feedback and action.
Throughout 2023, a total of 113 cases involving the threat of wild animals have been taken action by the Security Division. It was reported that cases involving wild animals that were successfully resolved throughout 2023 included threats from monkeys (45 cases), dogs (34 cases), snakes (25 cases), pigs (6) and others.
Proactive measures that have been taken by UKM Security include regular patrols and the arrest of wild animals such as dogs and monkeys, in parallel with immediate action on complaints reported by UKM citizens. In addition, ROSH-UKM has also established a UKM Wildlife Disturbance Committee to take action on issues related to wildlife in the university area. In order to improve the function and effectiveness of this committee, new members will be appointed by inviting representatives from the outside, the students, as well as representatives from the Student Affairs Center and the University Health Center.
This is part of the responsibility of the Security Division and ROSH-UKM who carry out their duties with trust. Both sides are always ready to deal with and reduce security threats to UKM citizens.
