Statement

At Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), we are committed to ensuring that learning is a continuous journey accessible to all, regardless of age, background, or previous academic experience. Our Lifelong Learning Access Policy promotes flexible and inclusive education pathways, empowering individuals to enhance their knowledge, skills, and competencies throughout their lives. Through diverse programs, such as the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL), we provide opportunities for personal and professional growth, contributing to the development of a knowledgeable, adaptable, and competitive society. UKM believes in fostering a culture of lifelong learning to support individuals in meeting the evolving challenges of the global landscape.

Learning is centered around students gaining and applying knowledge meaningfully.  Supervision provides structured guidance for student research and academic progression.

Curriculum Design and Review: UKM adopts a systematic approach to curriculum development, ensuring that academic programs are aligned with stakeholder needs, Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) standards, and current trends in the disciplines. It incorporates current research and developments to prepare students for future employment and global challenges.

Comprehensive Learning Experience: UKM promotes a balance between academic and co-curricular activities, including the integration of e-learning, lifelong learning, and ethical academic practices. Various learning spaces, including community, international, and industry-based environments, are emphasized to provide students with real-world experiences.
  5. Assessment and Evaluation: Continuous assessment, formative and summative evaluations, and external examiner reviews are core components to ensure academic quality and student success.
  6. Lifelong Learning and e-Learning: The policy emphasizes lifelong learning, providing flexible education pathways through Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) and e-learning platforms. This supports adult learners and promotes continuous skill development.
  7. Ethics and Academic Integrity: This policy emphasizes the importance of maintaining high standards of academic integrity, addressing issues such as plagiarism, data fabrication, and falsification.
