Women’s Likelihood of Graduating

Yes, UKM has tracking of women’s likelihood of graduating compared to men’s, and schemes in place to close any gap.

In 2023, UKM saw impressive progress in gender equality, with women comprising 65.17% of total graduates (4,697 out of 7,255). This reflects a steady increase from 2022, where women made up 64.95% (4,099 out of 6,311), and 62.90% in 2021 (3,844 out of 6,128).

These figures underscore UKM’s dedication to SDG 5, ensuring strong female participation in higher education. The consistent rise in the proportion of female graduates highlights the university’s commitment to fostering an inclusive academic environment. UKM’s support for women across all education levels is evident, as female graduation rates continue to grow each year, showcasing positive strides toward gender equality in education.

Overall, 2023 saw continued strong female representation, affirming UKM’s dedication to SDG 5.
