UKM Recognized in the Healthy University Rating System (HURS) Ranking

UKM has successfully achieved 5+ stars in the Healthy University Rating System (HURS) 2023, organized by the ASEAN University Network (AUN), and received the award on December 3, 2024, at the Millennium Hilton Bangkok, Thailand. Professor Dato’ Dr. Hanafiah Harunarashid, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Kuala Lumpur Campus), represented UKM to accept this recognition. UKM is one of only two universities in Southeast Asia and the only university in Malaysia to receive the 5+ star award.

This award ceremony was also held in conjunction with The 1st AIHD International Forum “Synergizing Global Health, Primary Health Care, and Health Promotion for a Sustainable Future.” As a result of this outstanding achievement, Associate Professor ChM. Dr. Siti Fairus Mohd Yusoff, Deputy Executive Director (Excellence & Distinction) of UKM’s Strategy Centre, was invited to represent the university as a panelist in the forum titled “Leveraging HURS: Cooperative Use in Global University Rankings.”

Participation in HURS 2023 marks UKM’s second involvement in this ranking, and this achievement represents a significant improvement compared to its 5-star rating in HURS 2022. It is hoped that this excellence will be maintained in the coming years.
