Non-Discrimination Against Women
At UKM, we are committed to fostering an environment where every individual is valued and respected, with a strong emphasis on non-discrimination against women. Our Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-Discrimination Policy is not just a guideline but a commitment to uphold the dignity and rights of all members of our community, in line with Article 8, Clause 2 of the Federal Constitution of Malaysia, which ensures equal protection before the law. UKM embraces principles of equality, inclusiveness, and anti-discrimination across all facets of work, teaching, research, and management, guaranteeing equal rights and opportunities regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, age, or disability. This includes actively preventing discrimination, harassment, and bullying, and supporting individuals who require special assistance. For instance, the UKM Disability Admission Policy 2019 ensures Disabled Persons (OKU) have full access to an inclusive, barrier-free campus experience. Our decision-making processes involve diverse perspectives, and recruitment and promotion criteria are regularly reviewed to remove bias, aligning with both legal and policy frameworks.
