KITA Postgraduate Programmes’ Publication Requirements

The publication requirement is one of the conditions for the award of degrees, as stipulated in the Part II, Section 14A(1) of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (Postgraduate Studies) Regulations 2021.

The publication requirement has been enforced in Master in Ethnic Studies and PhD (Ethnic Studies) programmes since Semester 1 of the 2011/2012 Session. Students who registered before Semester 1 of the 2011/2012 Session were not subjected to the publication requirement.

The publication requirement for KITA postgraduate degree programmes changes from time to time in accordance with the needs of the University as shown in the table below.

The publications that are taken into account are those published in the timeframe of the postgraduate studies at KITA and which are relevant to the field of study. Students are required to state the address of KITA-UKM as the author’s affiliation. Each copy of the publication must be submitted to the KITA Chief Assistant Registrar via KITA Administrative Assistant to be recorded and filed in the Student File.
