Malaysia-China Friendship Exchange Orchestra Performance, 18 July 2024

18th July 2024 – On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China, UCSI University in Kuala Lumpur hosted a joint performance featuring the UCSI Institute of Music and the Beijing Youth Symphony Orchestra, a group of school students from various schools in China. Organized by the Institute of Ethnic Studies (KITA) of the National University of Malaysia (UKM), UCSI University, Persatuan Pertukaran Persahabatan Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia-China, and Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur, among other supporting organizations, this event celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China. It aimed to promote the music and culture of both countries and showcase Malaysia as a vibrant hub for international students. The UCSI Institute of Music, ranked 42nd in the 2024 QS World University Rankings for performing arts, was represented by 40 students, and the event featured a total of 12 performancesβ€”five by the Beijing Youth Symphony Orchestra and seven by UCSI Institute of Musicβ€”attended by distinguished guests including KITA Founding Director Distinguished Prof. Datuk Dr. Shamsul Amri Baharuddin and KITA Deputy Director Prof. Dr. Kartini Aboo Talib @ Khalid, UCSI Executive Chairman Dato’ Peter Ng, and Kajang State Assemblyman YB Tuan Cheong Kian Young.

18 Julai 2024 – Bersempena dengan ulang tahun ke-50 hubungan diplomatik Malaysia-China, UCSI University di Kuala Lumpur telah menjadi tuan rumah bagi persembahan bersama antara UCSI Institute of Music dan Beijing Youth Symphony Orchestra, yang terdiri daripada pelajar sekolah dari pelbagai sekolah di China. Acara ini dianjurkan secara bersama oleh Institut Kajian Etnik (KITA) dari Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), UCSI University, Persatuan Pertukaran Persahabatan Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia-China, Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur, serta disokong oleh sembilan organisasi lain. Objektif acara ini adalah untuk meraikan ulang tahun ke-50 hubungan diplomatik antara Malaysia dan China, mempromosikan muzik dan budaya kedua-dua negara, dan memperkenalkan Malaysia sebagai hab pelajar antarabangsa. UCSI Institute of Music, yang menduduki kedudukan ke-42 dalam QS World University Ranking 2024 untuk seni persembahan, diwakili oleh 40 pelajar, manakala Beijing Youth Symphony Orchestra mempersembahkan lima persembahan dan UCSI Institute of Music menyusul dengan tujuh persembahan. Antara tetamu kehormat yang hadir termasuk Pengarah Pengasas KITA Prof. Ulung Datuk Dr. Shamsul Amri Baharuddin, Timbalan Pengarah KITA Prof. Dr. Kartini Aboo Talib @ Khalid, Pengerusi Eksekutif UCSI Dato’ Peter Ng dan ADUN Kajang YB Tuan Cheong Kian Young.
