INNOVATION COMPETITION PRESENTATION​

All participants from higher education institutions, schools, and industry stakeholders are invited to join the Innovation Competition, which is open according to the following categories:

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION METHOD

1. Participation in the T&L Innovation Competition can be made by submitting an abstract in the IUCEL X Knovasi 2024  via  iucel-2024-x-knovasi-2024  apps   https://knovasi-x-iucel-

2024.glide.page/.

2. Abstract   template   can   be   downloaded   from   the   apps,    https://knovasi-x-iucel-

2024.glide.page/ and the website (https://www.ukm.my/knovasi/innovation-competition/)

3. Both the use of Malay or English is allowed.

4. The final abstract submission date is July 5, 2024 be 11.59 pm.

5. Your abstract acceptance status will be notified via email.

6. The abstract cannot be changed (author's name, title and content) after the deadline for abstract submission. Please refer to the important dates stated in the apps and website.

7. If your abstract is successfully selected, registration and payment must be made beforehand by August 1st, 2024 to ensure your entry is accepted.

PRESENTATION PREPARATION METHODS

1. The presentation method is BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) where participants need to bring the necessary equipment and devices to present the innovations that have been carried out.

2. Presentation of innovation can be in a slide form, video/animation, e-poster presentation or product form, which follows from innovator creativity.

3. IUCEL X Knovasi 2024 will provide a table (approximately 1.5 x 3 feet for each participant), one chair and power source. A participant is responsible to bring his/her own power extension.

4. The content of the presentation should include:

➢  Introduction to teaching and learning innovation

➢  Justification of innovation

➢  Implementation of innovation

➢  Feedback and improvement efforts

➢  Impact/ Effectiveness

➢  Award/ academic recognition/ copyright (if any).

TEACHING AND LEARNING INNOVATION ASSESSMENT

Each participant will be judged by:
1. Expert jury from academia
2. Expert jury from the industry

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. IUCEL X Knovasi 2024 is open to all participants from primary schools to professionals.
2. For Category A, Innovation Competition Participant, registration is for one participant/presenter only.
3. For all PAID categories, ONE MEDAL is provided for FREE. Extra medals are also available for
purchase with a fee of RM100 (local) and USD25 (International) per medal (inclusive of delivery and packaging FEE.).
4. The organizer only provided ONE e-certificate that included all the participants’ names.
5. The certificate can be downloaded through the iucel-x-knovasi 2024 application and after the deadline, 30th March 2025, participants will be charged an additional fee of RM10.
6. Participants are not allowed to change the information in the certificate such as the title of the innovation and the authors’ names after the closing date for abstract submission which is 5th July 2024. Any changes will not be entertained.
7. All payment is NON-REFUNDABLE including cases of no-show. Failure to complete your registration before the end of submission date will VOID your participation.
8. The decision is final, and any form of appeal or dispute will not be entertained.

YOUNG DIGITAL INNOVATOR COMPETITION (YDIC)

Uncovering young digital innovators under the age of 17 to create an augmented reality (AR) product with technological elements using iPad technology.

Procedure of Video Content:

 

1. The final digital product must consist of: (i) AR-based digital content, (ii) presentation slides, (iii) voice recordings, sound effects, and music compositions, and (iv) a video.

2. The AR content must be developed using Reality Composer.

3. In terms of content, the AR materials developed must be related to the UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals and address local issues.

4. Technically, 80% of the models and AR environment must be developed using internal objects.

5. The AR content must also incorporate behaviors, and include "trigger" and "action sequence" features.

6. The final product must be presented in the Keynote application and include animated digital drawings and motion graphics features.

7. Voice recordings, sound effects, and music compositions must be developed using GarageBand software.

8. Videos must be edited using iMovie or Clips software.


Procedure of Video Presentation:

1. A workshop on augmented reality and using iPad technology will be provided for free to all YDIC participants.

2. The workshop will be held on Sept 4th, 2024 at the Faculty of Education, UKM.

3. Participants will submit their innovation in a video presentation before or on Sep 5th, 2024 (10 am).

4. Participants should attend the conference venue.

5. Submission of video shall be done using the group registered account ONLY, in the kNovasiXIUCEL 2024 apps.

6. Once submitted, the video submission is considered a final version, which will be used for evalution purposes.

7. Accommodation and transportation for YDIC participants will be announced shortly.

RULES AND REGULATION (YOUNG DIGITAL INNOVATOR COMPETITION (YDIC))

1. Young Digital Innovator Competition (YDIC) is applicable for students below 17 years old on the day of competition. One team consists of five (5) members including a teacher/supervisor/chaperone who may insert his/her name as a member. Failure to comply may lead to disqualification of participation.

2. Rules of video competition can be obtained from the apps under the Procedure of video content.
3. All decisions are FINAL. No request or appeal will be entertained.
4. The data collected for the registration process is strictly confidential and will not be shared to other entities.
5. However, the organizer may use the information for further communication with the participants such as to update the progress of the event and participation in future events.
