Assessment Programme for Educational Oil Palm Websites (Didik Sawit) with School Students

June 1, 2022 | Bangi, Selangor

In an effort to encourage the younger generation to venture into the field of agriculture in the palm oil industry, researchers at the Chair have developed Educational Oil Palm Websites (Didik Sawit), which is an appropriate educational model (curriculum and co-curriculum) that will serve as a catalyst for attracting the younger generation to engage in the field of oil palm farming. The younger generation is less interested in choosing agriculture because of the relatively low income compared to other fields. With suitable innovations, it will add value and be able to attract the interest of the younger generation to enter this field.
An Assessment Programme for Educational Oil Palm Websites (Didik Sawit) has been conducted with school students. This initiative was undertaken to evaluate the usability and effectiveness of the Didik Sawit website in acquainting school students with the palm oil industry. By engaging directly with students, this assessment seeks to gauge the website's functionality and its potential as an educational tool for enhancing understanding and interest in palm oil farming among the younger demographic.
