Training Course on Learning for Change for Sustainable Business: Developing the Capacity of Private Sectors in Malaysia

Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in collaboration with the Global Action Plan (GAP) Sweden and supported by other institutions such as EcoKnights, Kuala Lumpur Malay Chamber of Commerce (KLMCC) and Yayasan Bank Rakyat has successfully organise a two-day Training Course on Learning for Change for Sustainable Business: Developing the Capacity of Private Sectors in Malaysia on 28-29 April 2015 at Hotel Puri Pujangga@UKM Bangi, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The workshop’s target groups are various private sector businesses in Malaysia. It is addressed primarily to leaders or managers of sustainability work. The methodology, called Learning for Change (L4C), offers an effective format for planning and evaluation meetings as well as providing a basis for credible sustainability reporting. The methodology builds on action research over 10 years with a focus on behaviour change in the context of sustainable development; and is today actively used by hundreds of previous workshop participants worldwide. This L4C Training Course is purposely designed for Business Sector to develop the capacity of private sectors in Malaysia in sustainable business. All together about 25 participants were participated in this training. Participants are able to apply the Learning for Change (L4C) method as tool for shifting their sustainability work, and at the same time improve Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in private sectors in Malaysia.
