Helicobacter pylori Culture and Sensitivity Testing Service


 


Our department is offering Helicobacter pylori culture and susceptibility testing services on gastric biopsy specimens of patients from Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz and outside hospitals/laboratories. Susceptibility testing (through measuring the ‘minimum inhibitory concentration’) will be performed on the antibiotics- metronidazole, clarithromycin, amoxicillin, levofloxacin, tetracycline and rifampicin.


Operation Hours

  • The service operates Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 4.00pm, and is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

TAT

  • The turn around time of this test is 30 days.

Payment Rates

  • Payment must be made in advanced BEFORE sending the specimen to us.
  • Information on payment methods can be found on the test request form (download form here).
  • Each test will be charged based on the rates according to the following institutions/hospitals:
    • HCTM / PPUKM / UKM: RM 200.00
    • Government hospitals / laboratories: RM 200.00
    • Hospital / private laboratories: RM 300.00

Test Request Procedure

  • For more information on specimen collection, storage and transport procedures, please refer to the guidelines that can be downloaded here.
  • Before sending the specimen, please FIRST submit proof of payment to the designated counter according to the institution to obtain a receipt (please refer to the ‘METHOD OF PAYMENT’ section on the test request form, download here).
  • When submitting the sample, please bring the receipt along with the specimen and the application form that has been printed and filled in completely to:
