MISA10 INVITATION
The 10th Malaysian International Seminar on Antarctica (MISA10) with the theme ‘Polar Research for Sustainability & Planetary Health’ is jointly organised by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), YPASM, NARC and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES). The Malaysian International Seminar on Antarctica (MISA) takes place every two years. This year, MISA10 will be held from 14th to 16th May 2024 in the multi-ethnic town of Bangi, Malaysia. As an esteemed platform for polar researchers, enthusiasts, and experts, MISA10 aims to foster knowledge exchange and promote collaboration within the sphere of polar research for the greater good of our planet.
Theme: Polar Research for Sustainability and Planetary Health
The theme for MISA10 is “Polar Research for Sustainability and Planetary Health”, emphasising the crucial part that polar research plays in preserving the sustainability of our natural resources and safeguarding the health of our planet. In the vast polar landscapes, researchers explore diverse aspects encompassing biological, physical, and social sciences, unveiling the intricate interplay between polar regions and the global ecosystem. Understanding these connections can help us create plans for resource management that will minimize climate change, maintain biodiversity, and ultimately improve the health of our planet.
Prominent Speakers and Diverse Expertise
MISA10 is proud to present a distinguished lineup of speakers from a range of fields, including glaciology, geology, climate science, marine ecology, and the humanities. These well-known researchers will share their extensive knowledge, experiences, and visions for the future of polar science. Their insights will shed light on current and next developments in polar research and guide us toward innovative solutions for global challenges.
Your Presence Matters: Join Us at MISA10
We cordially invite you to participate in MISA10, and together to have fruitful conversations, build networks of cooperation, and propel polar research to new heights. MISA10 promises to be a memorable experience for all participants to be part of a collective effort to support global sustainability and planetary health.
