MSM MEMBERSHIP

The Society accepts application for membership from students, researchers, academicians, policy makers and industry who are directly or indirectly involved in the advancement and promotion of the field of Microbiology. The various levels of membership are student members, ordinary members, life members and associate members.

Life membership application can be made after an individual has been an ordinary member of Society for three consecutive years. The Life Membership application will then be brought to the Executive Committee for a decision to be made on the application. Once and applicant is accepted, the membership fee of RM300.00 should be paid before the Society elevates the status of the member from Ordinary to Life Member status.

TYPE OF MEMBERSHIP

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP :

This form of membership is open to all students registered in tertiary education in the field of Microbiology (Diploma/ Bachelors/ Masters, PhD, DPhil, MD). This will require a yearly subscription to retain student membership (RM10).

ORDINARY MEMBERSHIP :

This is open to any non-student member who is involved in the advancement and development of Microbiological Sciences. The membership is retained with a yearly subscription (RM25).

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP :

It is open to non-Malaysian citizens who would like to be part of the MSM. Will require a yearly payment towards membership (RM30).

AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP :

This is open to NGO, companies and associations who wish to be recognized as a member of MSM and to participate in the Society’s activities. Membership is acquired at RM300/year.

LIFE MEMBERSHIP :

This is form Ordinary Members who have at least been active members of the Society for three years. Life Membership is decided upon by the Executive Committee and the Committee reserves the right to accept or reject an application for reasons the Executive Committee shall deem fit.
