BANGI, 31 March 2017 – The entrepreneurial programme, ‘Right Diet For You’ (RightDiet4U), has successfully produced eight entrepreneurs, using healthy food delivery business at an affordable price, as its concept.
UKM Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Industry and Community Partnership, Prof Dato’ Dr Imran Ho Abdullah said the concept was introduced due to the awareness of the problem that people these days don’t have enough time and are too tired to cook.
“So the Community Rehabilitation & Ageing Research Centre (H-CARE) created a business opportunity for housewives, asnaf and low income earners to be involved in this food delivery service business.
“All the start-up entrepreneurs have been trained by H-CARE to prepare and market the six menus consisting of healthy foods category,” he said while delivering his speech at the closing ceremony of the RightDiet4U, Apprentice Entrepreneurs’ Project, recently.
He added that the programme is expected to provide a big impact on the welfare of the local population through sustainable changes in food habits.
He also hoped that this programme, which involves the transfer of knowledge between the university and the community, can benefit the participants, so that they can improve their skill in healthy food preparation and marketing techniques.
