14 PERMATApintar Students Selected to Join PERMATA-UKM Science Institute in London

BANGI, 6 June 2017 – A total of 14 UKM PERMATApintar National Gifted Centre (PERMATApintar) students, have been selected to join the PERMATA-UKM Science Institute in London, recently.
That 14 students consists of eight college PERMATApintar students and six ASASIpintar students.
According to UKM PERMATApintar Director, Prof Datuk Dr Noriah Mohd Ishak, PERMATA-UKM Science Institute is a Nobelist Mindset Programme – an initiative by PERMATApintar UKM to help and nurture gifted students to become future Nobel Prize winner.
“The Nobelist Mindset Programme comprises the Nobelist Mindset Workshop at the National level and PERMATA-UKM Science Institute.
“Students for the PERMATA-UKM Science Institute were selected based on the results of the Nobelist Mindset Workshop,” she explained.
She added, the PERMATA-UKM Science Institute began in 2012 with the New York Academy of Science, followed with Royal Society, London, University of Cambridge and Oxford University in 2016.
Prof Datuk Dr Noriah said among the objective of the programme is to give participants an opportunity to meet Nobel Prize winners at the Royal Society and discuss research ideas.
“During the 10-day programme, participants visited interesting places such as the Science Museum, University of Cambridge, the National History Museum, University of Oxford and excursions around the city of London,” she said.
Nobelist Mindset Programme workshop and PERMATA-UKM Science Institute was also attended by Patron of PERMATA, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.
The programme is carried out every two years.
