1Malaysia Book Voucher Aid Extended

BANGI, 2 March 2016 – Higher Education Minister Dato’ Seri Idris Bin Jusoh launched a RM300 million aid for 1.2 million Malaysian university students, during a townhall meeting held between Higher Education Minister and University Student Councils at The National University of Malaysia (UKM), recently.
The aid consists of RM250 1Malaysia book vouchers for university students and RM100 assistance to poor students.
Also present were Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Mary Yap Kain Ching, Higher Education Ministry Chief Secretary Dato’ Ir Dr Zaini Bin Ujang and Vice Chancellor of UKM, Prof Datuk Dr Noor Azlan Ghazali and representatives from both public and private universities.
Dato’ Seri Idris stated the goverment is sympathetic to the concerns and hardships that students face in dealing with the rising cost of living.
Some 2, 000 student leaders from various universities, polytechniques and community collegues had taken part.
