BANGI, 21 Sept 2015 – About 400 second intake new students at the National University of Malaysia (UKM) session 2015/2016 took their oaths of loyalty and promised not to waste the opportunities given to them as undergraduates.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr Noor Azlan Ghazali said undergraduates need to know their goals when becoming university students.

“They (students) need to understand their own goals and the university’s goals. They have their goals in life and career, have trust and hope given by their parents and relatives, but the university also has hopes, vision and goals that must be met.

“So, it is important because this institution is one of a kind. Every one of them must understand that this university has a history and distinctive role,” he said to reporters after the pledge-taking of the second intake freshmen, here today.

He said, it is important for them to know the responsibilities of the graduates in line with the Malaysia Education Blueprint (Higher Education), launched by Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Razak in April 2015.

Also present were Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Deans and the top management of the university.
