Continue Serving The People, Urges UKM Chancellor

BANGI 31st October 2015 – Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Al-Marhum Tuanku Munawir decreed that The National University of Malaysia (UKM) must remain devoted to its original objectives although it has achieved international success.
The UKM Chancellor said he considers the university successful if it continues serving the hopes of the people for a higher cause.
Opening the first session of the 43RD Convocation here today Tuanku Muhriz said eventually the university must contribute to the development of life and civilization of the country.
Tuanku Muhriz, who is also Negeri Sembilan Yang Di Pertuan Negeri, stressed that the objectives of UKM to empower the Malay language to become the medium of science should always remain.
Nevertheless, he said English as a global language and Arabic, a major medium of knowledge, must also be given prominence.
Tuanku Muhriz declared that UKM’s reputation would not be possible without the dedication of the people it served.
Tunku MUhriz also advised UKM graduates to do their best to excel in key strategic tasks when they go out to pursue their dreams .
Nearly 6,000 students were graduating at the 43nd convocation which commenced today and concludes on November 3rd .
